Throughout each year, students from around Char-Em ISD tour local businesses to learn first-hand the variety of employment opportunities right here in Northern Michigan! If your business is interested in hosting a student tour, please contact Kelly Johnson at (231) 582-8070.
National Manufacturing Day
Held annually on the first Friday in October, Manufacturing Day helps show the reality of modern manufacturing careers by encouraging thousands of companies and educational institutions nationwide to open their doors to students, parents, teachers, and community leaders. Char-Em ISD partners with the Northern Lakes Economic Alliance, regional chambers of commerce, and manufacturers throughout Charlevoix and Emmet counties to bring students into the facilities to tour and learn about job opportunities right in their own backyard! For information about how your student or business can participate in National Manufacturing Day activities, contact Tory Thrush at (231) 582-8070. National Manufacturing Day website
