Description: Emily Hanford has been working in public media for more than two decades as a reporter, producer, editor, news director and program host. In 2022, Hanford released her most recent work, a six-episode podcast titled, “Sold a Story: How Teaching Kids to Read Went So Wrong.” Through the series, Hanford surfaces how research about the “science of reading” intersects with current methods, causing educators across the country to reflect on their practices and mindsets about how students learn to read.
