Manipulative use is recommended because it is supported by both learning theory and educational research in the classroom. Manipulatives help students learn by allowing them to move from concrete experiences to abstract reasoning. This workshop will focus on using manipulatives to help students connect ideas and integrate their knowledge so that they gain a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
