Rethinking Summer School K-3

Are you wondering what you can do to accelerate reading growth for students that have fallen further behind in 2020? How about rethinking your summer reading program? This four-session series will focus on aligning summer reading programs and traditional summer school to best practice, which is guaranteed to get the results you’ve been hoping for. Please attend with your literacy leadership team and be prepared to make building-level decisions. Each team will create a concrete plan that can be implemented in summer 2021. The four sessions will focus on: engaging ALL readers and writers throughout the summer, small group or individual tutoring as an option, developing community partnerships, family involvement, and designing a plan so you’re ready to go when June rolls around.

This is a four-session online training. Participants will receive log-in information through email prior to the date of the training.

Session dates: Feb. 8, April 15, April 29, May 20
