Fall for Literacy
The 2020 Fall for Literacy theme, Brain Basis for Reading Ability and Disability: Word Study, is geared toward K-5 educators and specialists who work with literacy development. It is open to staff in all Charlevoix-Emmet ISD districts. There is no cost for Char-Em ISD member districts; $50 per person for outside attendees.
Joanna Christodoulou, EdD, is a developmental cognitive neuroscientist who studies the development and difficulties of reading, math, and attention at the intersection of research and practice. She is associate professor at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA, as well as a research associate at MIT and adjunct lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
