English Language Arts (ELA) Collaborative for Middle/High School 2019-20
If you are looking to get back to the heart of WHY you became an educator, this is the learning network for you!
Join fellow ELA teachers as we journey down a path that seeks to build collective efficacy and empowers teachers to meet the challenges they encounter in their classrooms. Participants will engage in book clubs based on a professional text that will expand their knowledge around such topics as mindfulness, social emotional learning, and effective instructional practices.
Research tells us that while learning tools and protocols can be helpful in our practice, we also need guidance and support from colleagues that will inspire and renew us.
- identify student learning needs and engage in collaborative inquiry to discover how to best address these needs.
- learn, practice, and implement the best instructional techniques that can improve teaching of reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
- build a collaborative network that encourages risk-taking and professional growth.
