The documentary RESILIENCE: The Biology of Stress and The Science of Hope, by director James Redford and an official selection of the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, will be viewed and discussed by participants. The documentary explores the science behind Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). It chronicles how toxic stress wreaks havoc on the brains and bodies of children and how therapists, educators, and communities are using cutting-edge science to disrupt cycles of violence, addiction, and disease.
