DESCRIPTION:CPI Refresher: Nonviolent Crisis Intervention 2026-27\nThis is a recertification training opportunity for staff members who have current Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification. As a reminder, certifications are valid for two years. Completion of a refresher course is required to maintain certification in use of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention strategies and procedures.\nCPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) is a training program designed to equip staff with skills to prevent and manage challenging behaviors in crisis situations. It emphasizes proactive responses, de-escalation techniques, and safe disengagements, with the goal of using physical interventions as a last resort. This training meets a portion of the requirements for key identified personnel, as required by the Michigan Department of Education Policy for the Emergency Use of Seclusion and Restraint.\nThis is a one-day training.
