DESCRIPTION:CPI Initial: Nonviolent Crisis Intervention 2025-26\nCPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) is a training program designed to equip staff with skills to prevent and manage challenging behaviors in crisis situations. It emphasizes proactive responses, de-escalation techniques, and safe disengagements, with the goal of using physical interventions as a last resort. This training meets a portion of the requirements for key identified personnel, as required by the Michigan Department of Education Policy for the Emergency Use of Seclusion and Restraint.\nContent will be delivered in a virtual and in-person format. Virtual modules (2 hours) will be asynchronous, provided through an email link, 7-10 days prior to in-person training. (Must be completed prior to in-person training.) In-person training will review concepts and provide teaching and practice of physical interventions.\nIn addition to the virtual portion, this is a one day in-person training.
