this service?
Teacher consultants provide instruction and diagnostic
services to support handicapped students in the
classroom. Services focus on working with teachers,
students, and parents to solve learning problems.
Teacher consultants help identify strategies for
student success.
Who
do we serve?
Teachers, administrators, parents, handicapped
students or students suspected of having a handicap.
How do we
serve?
The
teacher consultants:
- helps
determine appropriate goals for the student
and ways to assess student progress toward goals
- demonstrates
or assists teachers in the classroom with particular
lessons or strategies for teaching
- provides
information on materials, technology and community
resources
- provides
teacher training on instructional methods
- tests
and evaluates in accordance with special education
guidelines
- adapts
materials and instruction for handicapped students
