What is
this service?
Speech and language services help children who
have difficulty communicating through speech.
Students may need assistance with correctly forming
and pronouncing words or need help developing
language and understanding the meaning of words.
Who
do we serve?
Both preschool students (0 to 6) and school-aged
children and their families
within the Char-Em ISD.
How do we
serve?
Speech
therapists provide services which may include:
- observation,
screening, informal and formal assessment for
suspected problems with speech and language
- in-home
direct services to children from birth to age
3
- support
services for children in the home for in preschool
program, ages 3 to 6
- support
for school personnel in working with students
with speech and language problems
- classroom
instruction for school-aged students
