What
is this service?
Occupational therapy services help students to
be successful in school by creating adaptations
in the areas of positioning, mobility, communication,
life skills and vocational skills.
Who
do we serve?
All Children identified with neurological, muscular
or orthopedic impairments, traumatic brain injury,
and other health impairments.
How
do we serve?
Occupational
therapists provide services which include:
- in-home
services to develop early feeding, motor and
play skills
- support
services to children 3 to 6 who are entering
local preschool programs
- screenings
and evaluations to identify special educational
needs
- training
in use of special equipment needed in any area
of school, including the classroom, cafeteria,
gymnasium, playground and school bus
- direct
service in the classroom to develop functional
hand skills, such as self-care, writing, or
computer use
