What
is this service?
Homebound/hospitalization teaching services are
available to students who are unable to attend
school for an extended time due to illness or
accident.
Who
do we serve?
Students (Kindergarten through grade 12) are eligible
with a physician directive. Services are provided
at the expense of the local school district of
attendance.
How
do we serve?
The
homebound teacher arranges communication between
the school and student who is at home or hospitalized.
The homebound teacher receives assignments from
the classroom teacher(s), work with the student
on those assignments, and then returns all complete
work to the school. Students and parents are better
able to cope with illness and accident when the
burden of school is transferred to a teacher.
