What
is this service?
"Early On" is a joint effort by a number
of agencies that provide services that a family
might need when they have a concern about their
infant or toddler's development. "Early
On" helps to:
- reduce
paperwork
- form
agency-family partnerships
- assign
one service coordinator
- give
assistance to families from many different agencies
- form
parent-to-parent support networks
Who
do we serve?
The "Early On" process is for families with infants
and toddlers under the age of three. These infants/toddlers
have special needs such as cerebral palsy, spina
bifada, Downs syndrome, leukemia, autism, or a
developmental delay.
How
do we serve?
First
the child's development is assessed by a trained
consultant. Next, an individual family service
plan is formed to address special family needs such
as:
- transportation
- medical
insurance
- child
care support
- someone
to listen
- housing
- respite
care
- parenting
issues
- more
information on a child's disability
- occupational
or speech therapy
- telephone
