What
is this service?
The Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities
Project provides assurances that federal and state
requirements are met and that the following components
are addressed:
Students
- every student, every grade, will receive alcohol,
tobacco and other drug education, violence prevention/conflict
resolution;
Staff/Employers/Teachers
- will have access to training to strengthen
skills and implement programming regarding drug
education and violence prevention;
Community/Parent
- providing access to training opportunities
to strengthen skills to prevent or intervene
on violence and drugs in our society.
Community members and parents are encouraged
to participate on the regional and local school
district Safe and Drug Free Schools and Community
teams.
Who
do we serve?
All Students in local schools (K-12), staff members
of local schools, community and family units.
How
do we serve?
Safe
and Drug Free Schools and Communities provides the
following services:
- disseminate
information to schools and communities regarding
alcohol, tobacco and other drugs; violence prevention
and conflict resolution
- provides
drug education and violence prevention training
to local schools (students and staff)
- grant
writing, attendance at state meetings, evaluation
and on-going consultation
- assistance
with meeting state and federal mandates for
Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities
- coordinate
and assist schools with local resources to meet
the SDFSC mandates (agencies, organizations,
coalitions)
