Health Services

In Health Services, students are introduced to the enormous and growing field of health care. The program involves students in a combination of classroom and clinical experiences. Courses are designed to prepare students with entry-level skills as well as post secondary education and training.  Related health occupations include physician, nurse, dietary assistant, home health care technician, radiology technician, occupational and physical therapist, medical laboratory assistant, dental assistant, dentist, medical assistant, medical records clerk and many other occupations.

All Career and Technical Education programs available within the ISD follow these guidelines. CTE Courses include: Business Administration Management and Operations, Graphic and Printing Technology, Radio and TV Broadcasting, Information Technology, Marketing, Automotive, Construction, Drafting and Design, Woodworking and Furniture Making, Health Services, Child Care Services, Education, Food Service, Hospitality and Tourism, Agriscience and Natural Resources/Horticulture. Courses are offered in Alanson, Beaver Island, Boyne City, Boyne Falls, Central Lake, Charlevoix, East Jordan, Ellsworth, Harbor Springs, Pellston, and Petoskey Public Schools.
