Behavioral Services

Char-Em ISD Behavior Consultants use Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) strategies to support parents, school personnel and local community agencies to assist students in learning responsible and appropriate behavior. 

Behavior Consultants generally support the school’s needs through individual student, classroom, and school-wide positive behavior support. When working to support an individual student, consultants work with school staff to assist in identifying the root cause of negative behavior using an effective problem-solving process. Comprehensive support plans involving the use of positive behavior support strategies are developed by the school to include the teaching of appropriate interpersonal and/or social skills.
